Fr. Sean Fortune
Stephen - 13yo when abuse started
I was a boarder in St Peter's in the 1970s and alleged sexual, abuse by Sean Fortune who was a seminarian there at the time.
I was 13 years old when it started. Inappropriate touching and explicit conversations led to oralsex and masturbation and eventually, after 3 or 4 months, to full and violent rape. The first such rape time occurred in a shower cubicle in St Peter's and subsequently five or six incidents occurred in a bedroom in the College.
Sean Fortune made me swear on a bible not to tell anyone and warned me that if I did, I would be expelled from St Peter's which would cause great hurt to my parents. Close to the end of the school year, I told the principal of St Peter's of the abuse. The school Principal reacted angrily to what I said and refused to believe me, telling me that Sean Fortune was going to be a good priest and that if I persisted in saying those things about him, I would be thrown out of the college.
I dreaded going back to the college the following year. However, no further abuse occurred and I had no further contact with Sean Fortune and only minimal contact with the Principal.
I told the Inquiry that I continued to be affected by what had happened to me in my early days in school.
I started counselling in my adult life and I am hopeful that that will help.
I contacted the Diocese in March 2003 and am pursuing a civil claim against Bishop Eamonn Walsh and the Diocese of Ferns.
Fr. Donal Collins

I was a student of St. Peter's in the 1960's. During my intermediate exam year, Fr. Collins invited me to his room, for some reason looking to photograph me. Another time Fr. Collins came to my dormitory, and began tomasturbate me. It happened several more times after that.
I made a complaint to the Diocese in 2002 and was told that any criminal prosecutions should not proceed.

I attended St. Peter's College during the 1970's. Fr. Donal Collins was my science teacher. In second year Fr. Collins approached me and asked me personal questions, and specifically asked was I developing normally. I started to doubt if I was developing normally and he persuaded me to let him examine my body. He took advantage of his position and power. I trusted him. Hemasturbated me several times a year for four years.
In 1991 I reported it to Bishop Comiskey. They offered and I recieved payment for counselling. In 1994 I made a formal complaint to An Garda Siochana. A civil case was settled in 2000 and I received compensation but it doesn't begin to fix the abuse I suffered.

I was instructed to attend Fr. Collins room in relation to the Legion of Mary or the swimming associations. He touched andmasturbated me on a number of occasions and would often offer me alcoholic drinks. One of the nurses in the college warned me not to be alone with Fr. Collins.

During my fourth year in St. Peter's college in the 1970's I was invited to Fr. Collins room to talk about the Young Scientist project. He very quickly changed to the subject of my maturity, mentally and physically. He put his hands on my private parts and began to touch me. It happened twice more after that, but I was sure to never be in a situation like that with him again and nothing further happened. I reported the abuse to the Gardai in 1995.

Adam - 12yo when abuse happened
In the early 1990's Fr Doyle visited my home. He was with my parents and excused himself to go to the bathroom. I don't remember much, but my father rushed down the hallway when he heard me scream "Stop". Apparently he had pushed me into a corner and grabbed my crotch and buttocks. My family contacted Fr Doyle's parish priest and within a few months Fr. Doyle was charged and convicted.

When I was 11 years old I found a watch at my local GAA pitch in Wexford. I brought it to Fr. Doyle cause I felt I could trust him. He undid both his own and my clothing and exposed both of us. He touched me and made me touched him. He told me if the watch didn't get back to it's owner that I could have it. I didn't want to tell my family because I didn't think they would believe me. I returned to collect the watch at a later date and Fr. Doyle tried to impose himself on me again but no physical assault happened. I only reported it to the Gardai in 2003.

I was a student at St. Peter's boarding school whilst James Doyle was a senior student there. He was about four years older than me and I admired him very much. I was lying in bed in my dormitory one night when James came in and started to fondle me. It disturbed me but I felt I couldn't tell anyone. The respect and admiration I had for James was gone after that episode.
